Eikaiwa.FM, Inc. (which operates GetStudents.net; the “Company,” “we,” or “us”) recognizes its responsibility to appropriately use and manage information that identifies an individual — such as name, telephone number, and email address — in the course of operating the teacher-introduction website GetStudents.net (the “Site”). We handle personal information properly and in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

1. Purpose of Use of Personal Information

In addition to any purpose you have consented to, we may use the personal information we collect from you for the purposes set out below. We will not use your personal information for any purpose other than these:

• To operate our teacher-introduction service — that is, to display your profile to prospective students and, only when a student pays to purchase your contact information, to provide the contact details (such as the email address(es) and phone number(s)) you have chosen to include in your profile (see Section 2 below);
• To provide the Site’s Internet information services and the associated support, billing, and payment processing;
• To provide information incidental to the Site’s related services;
• To carry out research and analysis in order to maintain and improve the quality of the Site’s services;
• To respond to your requests for disclosure, correction, or deletion of your information;
• To use it for a purpose to which you have separately and individually consented after we contact you.

2. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Your contact information is released only to a student (or other user) who has paid to purchase it, and only because you chose to include it in your profile for exactly that purpose. We never sell, rent, or give away your contact details for free, and nothing is released until a purchase is made.

GetStudents.net is a teacher-introduction service, so being findable by students is the reason you sign up. With your authorization — given when you create and maintain your profile — your information is used as follows:

• Only after a paid purchase: your contact details (such as the email address(es) and phone number(s) you chose to include in your profile) are provided to a student — or other user — who has paid to purchase them. Nothing is released until that paid purchase is made. Including a phone number is optional; you decide what to make available.
• Free to browse, no contact details shown: the rest of your profile (for example your self-introduction, languages, and general area) is displayed to prospective students in Japanese on SenseiNavi.com so they can find and choose you — but your contact details are not shown to anyone until a student pays to purchase them.

You control the contents of your profile and may edit or remove it at any time. Please include only contact details you are willing to have shared with paying users; once your contact information has been provided to a paid purchaser, we cannot retrieve what has already been disclosed.

Other than the paid disclosures you authorize above, we do not provide the personal information collected from you to third parties. We may, however, entrust or provide personal information to third parties, such as business partners, on the condition that they adhere to a personal-information-protection policy equivalent to ours, in any of the following cases:

• Where we have obtained your prior consent or approval;
• Where it is necessary for the purposes of use set out in Section 1 above;
• Where disclosure is required under applicable laws and regulations;
• Where it is necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent;
• Where it is especially necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent;
• Where we merge with another company or otherwise transfer our business as a going concern.

3. Management of Personal Information

We strive to keep personal information accurate and up to date within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use. We take the necessary and appropriate measures for security management, including preventing the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information.

4. Access Logs and Cookies

• Access logs. The Site automatically collects information such as your Internet domain name, IP address, in-site search queries, and other information related to your use of the Site. This information is stored and used for the purposes described in Section 1 above.
• Cookies. For your convenience, some parts of the Site use cookies (information sent from the server to your browser and stored on your computer so that the server can identify users).

5. Disclosure, Correction, and Deletion of Personal Information

If you request the disclosure, correction, or deletion of your personal information, the suspension of its use, or the suspension of its provision to third parties, we will respond promptly and within a reasonable scope.
